International Markets Produce Mediocre Returns

For the second quarter of this year, mediocrity seems to be the name of the game for the international equity markets.

After delivering the strongest first quarter in 13 years, stocks paused during the second quarter as most of the equity indices gave back a little ground, taking a break from the rally which had begun in August of last year.

The 800 pound gorilla in the room is the debt ceiling negotiation. As seems to be human nature, we are down to the last few days before trying to get some serious solutions in place.
