James joined HFM in 2019 after spending more than a decade helping clients navigate the complexities of investment and wealth management. He holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designations.
Before HFM, James spent seven years as a portfolio manager and financial planner at a boutique wealth management firm in southern Connecticut. His earlier career included roles at Ameriprise Financial, Inc. and First New York Securities LLC, where he worked as an analyst, trader, and portfolio manager.
James brings deep expertise across multiple financial planning disciplines, from portfolio management to estate planning, retirement strategies, and business succession. He enjoys the puzzle of fitting all the pieces together for each client’s unique situation.
Outside the office, James lives in West Hartford with his wife and son. He can usually be found hiking local trails, planning the next family adventure, or holding out hope that this is finally the Mets’ year.
He holds a B.S. in Finance from Manhattan College.
